Headed out this morning at 3:30 am. Needless to say, I stayed in the bottom bunk for a couple of hours. I finally got up and it was about 7:00 am. We are traveling through the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia, about 135 miles from Roanoke. It is very pretty here. Of course, it is my home of state of Virginia! I have to say that today I am missing my bed just a little bit.
A big shout out to Paul's momma, Jannelle. We love you!
Here are some pictures of the mountains in Virginia.
We made a pit stop at Wal-Mart and got some more baby wipes and yogurt. We got an egg McMuffin at the McDonalds inside the store. It was so good. After eating fruit and crackers all day yesterday, it was a treat.
I tried to get a picture of the stadium, but once again the camera snapped it just as we passed. Close your eyes a visual a huge stadium with purple bleachers.
Now can you see it? Isn't that pretty cool.
I thought so too.

Well, we will be driving the length of Virginia today. We just saw a sign that said junction to
I 64-Richmond and it made Paul think of his sister, Mary.
Hi Mary! We love you. Kiss the kids for us and give Jack a big squeeze.
Here is a great shot of a farm on the side of the road while driving through Virginia.
Gotta love those Mountains in Virginia. God has made some beautiful places.
My feet get really cold in the truck. Paul the human heater keeps the AC on our feet and above. Thanks to my daughter for the sockies that keep my toes warm.
More great pictures of great rock formations and mountain views.
Wish we could stop and see some of the sites along the way.
Now this is a sign that just may give a trucker the heebie-jeebies.
At the bottom of the hill there was actually an up-slope for truckers who can't stop.
There a lot of them in the mountains. Thankfully we did not need to use them.
Paul is a good driver!
Such awesome views in the valleys.
Welcome to North Carolina!
North Carolina has some beautiful wild flowers that grow along the interstate highways.
Heading toward Charlotte, NC (actually going around it)
Hey look, NC has some water towers too.
Now here we are in North Carolina and what do I see? Why, it's a Hickory sign. Awww, my home away from home. Makes me think about how much I have to do back in my classroom at "Hickory Elementary." Well, it will still be there when I get back. Can't wait to see my teaching buddies and go to the beach and lunch.
This is Lake Norman. I have never heard of it. But I don't get to the west side of NC much.
Look at this beautiful campus.
It is called Belmont Abbey College.
We passed it on I 85, I must admit I got this picture off the internet because
once again as I snapped the picture - BOOM there was a tree!
This is in Charlotte, NC
Well we have 10 miles to the South Carolina state border.
UGH! this is one of the things truckers have to do and if there is a long line of trucks it makes you lose time. We have hit a few today, but no troubles along the way.
Do you know Jesus? If you don't, He wants to know you.
Welcome to South Carolina!
Love's Truck Stop
There is where we will be staying tonight. We went for a half hour walk, got a hot shower and had a salad at the McDonalds. Man, it feels so good to get a shower and feel clean again.
This is us on our walk. Now don't be hating, I know I look rough. But remember I didn't get a shower last night and I have been in a truck all day. I see a little bit of my mommy in my face.
I miss you mom!
I talked to my niece, Chelsea in Greenville, SC to see if she was close by. We are actually in Blacksburg. She is about 60 miles away. Maybe we can see her on our way down to Georgia. It all depends on our timing and scheduled delivery time. I love that girl. It was great talking to you Chels. give Marii Jane a big kiss if I don't make it. And give a Kyle a pinch on the cheek.
Well, we have some down time so we are going to relax before we call it a night.
Good Night.
Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
