Well it was an early morning again. I felt like sleeping in so I climbed back into Paul's bunk. I woke up when we got to our delivery site at 7:30 am. I got dressed and got out and helped Paul unstrap the load. We sat and waited for the forklift guy to unload. We sat there for about an hour and half. Once we were unloaded we headed to a truck stop to wait for our next assignment.

On the way is Las Cruses, where one of Holly's long time friends; Katie Young lives.
She attends the State University of New Mexico. We are hoping to connect with her

Mr. Cheese
We will go through Las Cruses - Maybe we can see Katie Young!
They are so elaborate with the roadways down here. I still can't get over it.
And to think I am actually taking pictures of overpasses.
Some of Albuquerque in the distance.
Now for some more mountain views.
I just starting singing "On Broadway ...."
Back to some detailed water "towers"
Bet Justin and Katy would like to come here for this event.
Okay, look closely as the truck coming down the road. It is holding one blade from those gigantic wind powered energy sources. Two more followed behind it. It is huge.
Home of the Eagles. Not sure where home is though.
A rest stop. They are so different here.
What's left of a river bed.
Trees for Sale??
Fresh RAW Honey for those allergy suffers in this neck of the USA
Apache Refuge
Awww, this is the Smokey Bear Historical Park.
Okay, now I have seen everything.
Truth or Consequences, NM
Originally named Hot Springs, the city changed its name to Truth or Consequences, the title of a popular NBC radio program. In 1950, Ralph Edwards, the host of the radio quiz show Truth or Consequences, announced that he would air the program from the first town that renamed itself after the show. Hot Springs won the honor. Edwards visited the town during the first weekend of May for the next fifty years. This event was called "Fiesta" and included a beauty contest, a parade, and a stage show. The city still celebrates Fiesta each year on the first weekend of May. The parade generally features area celebrities such as the Hatch Chile Queen. Fiesta also features a dance in Ralph Edwards Park.
Now we come to a "Pueblo Themed" Rest Stop.
I'm telling you, nothing surprises me anymore.
This toilet was powered by air pressure. It was flush-up-against the wall and teeny-tiny.
Hmmmm, No soliciting in the bathroom.
You figure that one out.
Some of the signs at the rest stop.
Paul taking a break from the drive.
Me taking the picture not able to see the screen because of the sun.
Back on the road, again...
Elephant Butte - that's another one I'm not too sure of.
Okay I looked it up...
The name "Elephant Butte" refers to a volcanic core similar to Devils Tower in Wyoming. It is now an island in the lake. The butte was said to have the shape of an elephant
Almost to Truth or Consequences.
Tammi S. said we needed to stop and get a treat at her friends shop.
We will try.
Well there is the shop, but we can not get this big rig into the parking lot.
So we will snap pictures and drive through this picturesque town.
Oh Yeah, the Baptists ARE out here....somewhere.
Back by SUMTHINS on the way out.
Sorry Laura that we couldn't meet you and taste your goodies.
Oh to choose between McDonalds or LaCocina.
We just drove by these two, and kind of ironic that you would see good food versus junk food.
Geronimo Springs.
No Way! Are we that close to home?? Nope, not even!
The Gila Cliff Dwellings.
I would so love to come back and see them.
Border Patrol!
Fort Seldon
Fancy Overpasses again.
These are beautiful!
We are almost to where we will meet Katie!!
This the University that she is studying at.
We made it! Rendezvous at the Truck Stop.
Katie has been Holly's friend since she was in Middle School.
She is such a sweetie to meet us here at the TA.
Crosses at the Taco Bell in the Truck Stop.
That's right - Christianity Rules!
We had a very nice visit with Katy. We stay almost an hour. She is doing great things here and around the world. Her next place to go for research is Malaysia. Good luck Katy and stay well.
On the Road, again...
We have left New Mexico

Welcome to Texas!
This looks like fun.
Bet there are some cool treasures here.
Does that say Helen of Troy? It really does.
El Paso, TX - Here we come!
Five o'clock traffic.
That was too interesting of a name to not take a picture.
Our exit is coming up. We are heading to the Melton Terminal in El Paso.
It's Bob Hope Drive.
We are here! We will get our next assignment from this location.
Aww, two of my students from last year showing off the Sunflower we planted in class.
Reagan you are good gardener. I love you both.
Reagan showing two of the post cards I sent her. I mailed many, many cards.
I hope that they are all making it to their destinations.
This is where we will be sleeping tonight in the Rig. There are no showers at the terminal.
Got Hot Showers, had dinner, worked on the blog from yesterday and then called it a night.
Out next load is heading to Maryland! That's right we are heading toward home.
So for the next 4-5 days we will driving back across country.
Hopefully we go through some new states.
Good Night.
