We got up early and headed over to GenPak to have these ginormous air conditioners unloaded. The People were very friendly there. It went relatively quick. After we were done we headed over to a truck stop to sit for a while. When we get our next assignment, we will be on the road again.
Welcome to GenPak
Cedar City, UT
Here is Paul unchaining the units. We didn't have to strap or tarp this time. Oh Thank You Jesus!
So I was snapping pictures in the review mirror. They had a crane lift these babies off the truck.
We were out in the parking lot and saw them lowering the units onto the top of the building.
Pretty cool, since we just drove them all the way up from Laredo, TX.
And now for some "killing time" silliness.
Good Bye GenPak, we are going to a TA truck stop to wait for our next assignment.
I do not know what this is. But it was worthy of a picture.
Look at the speed limit up here.
I HAD to take a picture of it.
80 MPG!
Well, we got our assignment. It is to Tooele, UT, which is up near Salt Lake City, UT.
We are gassing up and are ready to head out. Got a quick bite at the Taco Bell inside the TA. Yummy!
Here is our first sign that says Salt Lake city.
Some more beautiful views.
We always seem to get on those long country roads.
We didn't get to the Grand Canyon, but we got pretty darn close. We did see other canyons that lead into the grand, as well as the Colorado River.
Up here in Utah Mormonism and Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints are prominent.
Denver is the other way from where we are going.
This was interesting with Green on one side of the road and Brown on the other.
Another Salt Lake sign.
There's a storm a brewing!
Heading through the town of Holden.
Great Basin National Park
Here is the route we are taking.
We came up Rt. 6 to Rt. 36 into Tooele, UT
The town of Delta
Here is a cross on the side of the road.
That constant reminder of Christ's sacrifice for all of us.
Demolition Derby Time
Turning off toward Salt Lake City
Beautiful Mountain Ranges
"Rock Formation"
That's right, my friend Cindy L. and I say that they are rocks.
Rest stop time. Guess what? It is an outhouse. Seriously, it was an outhouse.
The cutest outhouse I have ever seen.
Still seeing storms off in the distance.
A historical marker - that we will not be able to see buddy.
A strange looking set up of buildings.
Little white pods all over the field. Are you sure we aren't back in Roswell, NM?
An old broken down house.
Bet it was nice back in the day.
It's a town!
Yippee we are coming into Tooele, UT
Oh that Jesus, he is everywhere.
Heading into the Industrial Park.
Welcome to Carlisle!
Tooele, UT
We will be dropping our current trailer and picking up one of these.
Already loaded, just needs to be strapped.
Strapped and moving on down the road to Albuquerque, NM.
That's right, back to New Mexico.
It's hard to make out, but the great Salt Lake is on the edge of the land you see.
Too Cool!
It's our rest stop for the night.
We are staying at the TA in Salt Lake City.
We could see the Lake off in the distance as we approached.
This is the view from our truck! WOW!
Long and tiring day. I was ready for a shower and to go to bed. We had some dinner in the truck stop. Sometimes their dinners are not too bad. We climbed into bed about 9:00 and I am still rolling around at 11:00. I think sleeping in Paul's bunk in the morning might be in order.
Good Night.
The verse tonight is for my friend Becky Ferguson. I love you girl!
I will stick with you and always be your friend and sister in Christ.
Proverbs 18:24
There are “friends” who destroy each other,
There are “friends” who destroy each other,
but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.
